Pricing

How pricing works

Water treatment depends on the water and the house, so we do not post a price list. Here is what decides the number, and when you get it.

  • What decides the price

Three things move the price more than the brand does: how many stages the readings call for, how much water the house uses at once, and how hard the install is.

    • The number of stages and the size of the system

    • Peak flow: baths, kitchen and irrigation on the same line

    • The install: distance to the main, a drain, a stone counter, an association's rules

  • What the estimate includes, and what it doesn't

The proposal lists the system, the parts, the labor, a permit if one is needed and the first set of cartridges. It leaves out repairs to old pipes we find, a softener unless you ask for one, and any laboratory test, which the laboratory bills.

    • Included: system, parts, labor, permit, first cartridges

    • Not included: old-pipe repairs, a softener, laboratory fees

  • What happens at the visit

The test visit has a fee, stated when you book. If you order a system from the proposal, the fee is credited toward it. The report is yours either way.

  • When you get the number

After the test, in writing, as an itemized proposal. The price is fixed for the job it describes, and we agree any change in writing first.

  • If the job changes

If we open a wall or a cabinet and find an old valve that has to be replaced, we stop, show you and write the change down. Nothing is added to the bill without your yes.

  • Materials and who buys them

We supply the system and the cartridges. Replacement sets are priced in the proposal, with their interval, so the yearly cost is clear before you sign.

Questions

About the bill

Is there a charge to have my water tested?

There is a visit fee, stated when you book and repeated on the appointment text. It is credited toward a system if you order one from the proposal.

Can I pay in stages?

The proposal says when payments are due. Ask us before you sign if you would like a different schedule, and we will write it in.

What if I decide not to go ahead?

The visit fee stays, the report is yours, and nothing else is owed. You can take the report to another firm.

Ask for a written price

Book a test visit and the proposal follows it in writing, itemized.
