Drinking water
A second tap for what you drink and cook with
A reverse osmosis unit sits under the sink and feeds its own small tap beside the main one. Your main tap stays as it is.
It treats a small share of the water in the house, which is the share you taste. For many condos and villas it is the whole answer.
What you get
A dedicated tap, in a finish chosen to suit your kitchen
A line to the refrigerator, where the model allows it
Readings repeated at the new tap before we leave

When it fits
You may want this if
Coffee, tea and ice taste of the tap
Chlorine or minerals come through in what you make with the water.
You cook with a lot of tap water
Pasta, stock and rice use more water than a glass does.
A house-wide system is not allowed
In a condo, the cabinet under the sink may be the only place you can put anything.
The install
What happens under your sink
A kitchen unit is usually a single visit. Here is the order.
- 01
Step 1: We clear and cover
The cabinet is emptied, a cloth goes down, and your things go where you ask.
- 02
Step 2: The tap goes in
A hole in the sink or counter for the small tap. A stone counter is drilled by a fabricator, and we tell you before the visit if yours needs one.
- 03
Step 3: The drain and the supply
The unit takes its water from the cold line and sends rinse water to the drain, through a connection that cannot siphon back.
- 04
Step 4: We test it
We run it, check every joint for leaks, and measure the water again at the new tap.
Upkeep
Cartridges and the membrane
Filters wear out. Your proposal lists each cartridge and its interval, and we text you before one is due. The membrane lasts longer than the cartridges, and we give you the interval the maker states for yours.
You can change them yourself, or have Meiling do it on a yearly visit. The price of each set is written in the proposal, so the yearly cost is known before you sign.
Questions
About kitchen reverse osmosis
Does reverse osmosis use extra water?
Yes. The unit sends some water to the drain while it makes drinking water. The amount depends on the model, and its data sheet states the ratio.
Can it feed the ice maker?
Often, with a tee and tubing. We confirm your refrigerator's model before we promise it.
Will my sink need to be drilled?
The small tap needs a hole, or an unused one. If your sink already has a spare hole, we use it.
What if I rent or have an association?
Ask first. We can write a plain description of the work for your landlord or association to approve.
Start with a test at your kitchen tap
We measure first, so you know whether a kitchen unit is what the water calls for.
